RTW is a set of behaviours
RTW is conceptualized a complex human behaviour change.
RTW is a set of behaviours.
To understand the behaviours we observe in ourselves and in others it is important to understand that the behaviour we are observe is a function of personal factors (within us) interacting with environmental factors (around us).
We often make the mistake of over-estimating the role "person" and underestimating the role "environment" when looking at RTW outcomes. This is especially true as time drags on.
This is important because it can block our ability to Compassionately Navigate workers through the system. We can mistakenly vilify the worker as the root cause of long duration and poor outcomes. Statements like "Their not motivated", "They don't like their job", "If they wanted to RTW, they would."
